How a Botox brow lift works.
The frontalis lifts the brows. Other muscles pull them downward. Selectively relaxing brow depressors can allow a subtle change in position while preserving the lifting action. Treatment needs to account for your natural brow position, asymmetry and muscle activity.
A brow-lift treatment is an off-label use. Smoothing forehead lines and lifting the brow are different goals: relaxing the forehead’s lifting muscle can make the brow feel heavier. A qualified injector assesses the whole upper face rather than treating every line in isolation.
Why can brows droop after forehead Botox?
One important cause is excessive weakening of the frontalis, especially when someone relies on it to hold the brows up. Dose, placement and individual anatomy matter. Injecting above the brow is not automatically a lifting treatment.
Brow droop and eyelid droop are different problems. Eyelid droop can involve unintended weakening of the muscle that raises the lid. There is no universal “under the brow” injection rule; the eye area needs individualized planning.
What to discuss at your consultation.
Tell your injector if you have previously felt heavy brows, had a drooping eyelid, or disliked a peaked or uneven result. Bring the product name and date of prior treatment, if known. Point out the expression you want to keep as well as the lines that bother you.
- Am I using my forehead to compensate for a naturally low brow?
- Is my concern brow position, eyelid skin, or forehead lines?
- What degree of change is realistic for me?
- How will you balance symmetry with natural movement?
Your provider should explain whether an injectable fits the concern. Botox does not remove excess skin, and a subtle muscle-based change may not meet every goal.
If you already have a heavy brow or drooping lid.
Contact your treating clinician for an assessment rather than requesting additional injections without an examination. Tell them when the change started, which areas were treated, and whether your vision or eye comfort is affected. New vision changes need prompt medical evaluation; trouble breathing, swallowing or speaking needs urgent care.
Review the results timeline with your provider and agree on when to reassess. Your follow-up should focus on what is happening in your own face.
Brow-lift pricing and choosing an injector.
Ask for a quote based on the proposed areas and product; a forehead-line price alone may not describe a brow-balancing plan. Our Botox cost guide explains what to ask before booking.
