Lip flip vs. lip filler: what is the difference?

A lip flip uses botulinum toxin to relax muscles near the upper lip, allowing a little more of the lip to show. It changes how the lip sits rather than adding volume. Lip filler adds volume; the two procedures should not be treated as interchangeable.

If your upper lip seems to disappear when you smile, describe that to your injector. If you want additional fullness or a change in shape, explain that instead. A consultation should connect the treatment to your goal, including whether either option is appropriate.

How much does a lip flip cost in Annapolis?

West Annapolis Medical Spa’s published estimate is about $190. This is a starting point, not an individual quote. Confirm the product, total price, and follow-up terms before proceeding. A lip-flip price is not a lip-filler price.

Our Botox cost guide explains how product cost, clinical time, and overhead contribute to a treatment quote. It also explains why a promotion needs to be compared against the full plan.

What should I ask my injector?

  • Does my concern involve lip position, volume, or both?
  • What would you recommend preserving about my smile?
  • Which product are you proposing, and why?
  • How might treatment affect drinking, speaking, or lip movement?
  • When should I assess the result, and who do I contact with a concern?

Our aesthetic nurse injectors include Arabeth Turner, RN, BSN, and Bailey Lusby, BSN, RN. Read our injector guide and request your preferred provider when scheduling.

Is a Botox lip flip FDA-approved?

A lip flip is an off-label use of Botox. It requires an individual discussion of suitability, limitations, and risks. Possible effects include bruising and temporary difficulty with lip functions such as drinking or speaking. The toxin effect cannot simply be reversed on demand.

Tell your injector about medications, allergies, prior reactions, and pregnancy or breastfeeding. Follow the instructions provided for your treatment. Seek immediate medical attention for difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking.
