Prepare for a useful conversation.

Think about the change you would like to see and what you want to keep. “The lines between my brows bother me, but I want to retain movement” gives your injector a clearer starting point than requesting a fixed dose.

  • Bring your medication and supplement list, including recent changes.
  • Share any previous injectable treatments: the product, approximate date, response, and any problems.
  • Mention upcoming events so you can discuss timing without expecting an immediate result.
  • Bring questions about the injector, product, cost, follow-up, and possible side effects.

Ask the office for its preparation instructions. Do not stop prescribed medicines on your own to prepare for an aesthetic appointment.

The plan comes before the injections.

A consultation should make room for your health history, an assessment of the area, and a conversation about realistic results. Ask the injector to explain why the proposed approach fits your concern and which alternatives could be worth considering.

01 / Discuss

Explain your goals and describe any previous treatment experiences.

02 / Assess

Your injector considers movement, anatomy, and whether treatment is appropriate.

03 / Confirm

Agree on the product, plan, total price, and follow-up before deciding.

04 / Follow through

Leave with aftercare instructions and a way to contact the practice.

The practice describes typical injection visits as taking around 10–20 minutes. A first appointment may also need time for assessment and questions. Ask when scheduling.

Know who to call afterward.

Ask for your injector’s instructions about activity, makeup, and care of the treated area. These should come from the person who treated you, rather than a generic internet checklist.

Results develop over time. Discuss when to assess your response and how to contact the office if you have concerns. West Annapolis Medical Spa offers a complimentary touch-up within two weeks when needed.

Keep a simple treatment record.

Record the date, product, injector, areas treated, and how you felt about the result. This helps the next visit build on your experience.

Concerned about a heavy brow?

Forehead treatment relaxes the frontalis, which also lifts the brows. Ask how your plan preserves brow support. Read our explanation of brow droop and injectable brow-lift balance.

Make suitability part of the conversation.

Tell your injector about allergies, infections near the treatment area, muscle or nerve conditions, breathing or swallowing problems, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and your medications. Treatment is a prescription medical procedure.

Important Botox safety information

Do not receive Botox Cosmetic if you are allergic to a botulinum toxin product or have an infection at the injection site. Side effects can include bruising, headache, and eyelid or brow drooping. Rarely, toxin effects can spread and cause serious symptoms. Seek immediate medical attention for breathing, swallowing, or speaking difficulties. Read the full prescribing information and medication guide and discuss risks with your injector.

An appointment that respects your time.

We run a tight schedule and work hard to stick to it, with virtually no waiting for most appointments. Treatment itself takes minutes; a first visit also includes time to review your history, discuss goals and confirm your plan. Tell us when booking if you have several concerns so we can reserve an appropriate appointment.
